Corrine & Jack

Corrine and Jack contacted HB Oak Frames upon recommendation for help with their proposed 3 Bay Oak frame Tractor and Storage Shed.

Full Planning Consent was already granted and after looking over the consented drawings, a site visit was quickly arranged to discuss the potential install.

Corrine & Jack had appointed Jane Hooker of Jane Elizabeth Architects who raised a number of planning conditions which needed to be discharged by the Local Authority prior to construction commencing on site.

HB Oak Frames worked with Jane and collaborated with our regular Oak Frame Designer and separate Structural Engineering company in order to produce both drawings and a Structural Report to satisfy these additional planning conditions. Jane oversaw all of this and once everything was confirmed and discharged, work began.

HB Oak Frames had to really think about extra security during this build.  Standard Heras fencing was used with the addition of extra signage and documentation to comply with Health & Safety regulations.

The oak frame was manufactured by hand in our yard whilst groundworks were taking place.  Once groundworks were complete, the HB Oak Frames Install Team attended and began work to erect the large new Tractor and Storage Shed.

The structure itself is made up of 3 sizeable bays.  There is one ‘closed’ bay with a storage area above.  This area is open fronted and clad internally along with ply backing board on the rear wall.

The adjoining two bay section creates one generously proportioned open space, with vaulted ceiling and enough room for large vehicle storage.  The depth of this structure also allows for a workstation area to be situated towards the rear.  Both of these bays are fitted with large softwood garage doors.

Corrine & Jack had a real eye for detail on this project, opting for a barn hipped, catslide roof, tiled with reclaimed clay tiles and deep flow guttering.  The couple opted for vertically clad heavy duty, pressure treated softwood cladding which we all really feel gives this install the WOW factor.

The brief was for the new structure to be in keeping with the other adjacent buildings, and although this brief was met, we feel that the new Tractor & Storage Shed really holds its own.  Your eyes can’t help but be drawn to it as you approach from the driveway.

Corrine & Jack state, “We are very happy with the barn.  It has received many compliments and it's a great addition to our property.  The team on the build were very easy to work with which is always a bonus.”

This project was a real pleasure to be involved in and we’re so pleased that Corrine & Jack opted for HB Oak Frames to help with their build.  We hope the couple enjoy their new storage space.
